Servers tend to be left alone until problems occur. But more regular attention may stop problems from occurring at all.
Servers are often locked away in a cupboard or stuck under a desk and as long as everything works, then it's no more than a box with flashing lights, possibly with a post-it note stuck to it saying "Do not switch off!".
But if suddenly, your network is running slowly or you can't access your documents or emails, then what do you do?

Okay, not hardware maintenance, but day-to-day housekeeping such as ensuring critical updates are done, checking backups and adding users and shared folders as necessary.
